The Turin International Book Fair courted controversy this year by naming Israel its 2008 Guest of Honour. With a few days left prior to the official opening(8-12 May), a number of intellectuals and human rights’activists voice criticism at the invitation of Israeli writers. As part of its coverage of the controversial Turin International Book Fair 2008, Weast meets a poet (Aaron Shabtai) and a writer (Benny Ziffer) from Israel who both decided not to participate.
