Those Afghans who seven years ago believed in a new dawn for their country are left disheartened. Afghanistan is
today in the grip of poverty, corruption and widespread violence. The
Taleban are back. Fierce fighting between coalition forces and insurgents
forced many civilians to leave their possessions behind to look for a
safer shelter. Gathered in refugee camps, neglected by the authorities and
by humanitarian organisations, they will soon be facing a harsh winter. A
family in Kabul and a displaced person camped on the outskirts of the
capital tell Weast Productions of their disappointment and fears. Here are
their views. Gianluca Grossi reports. (Broadcast on Swiss National TV,
Italian Channel TSI, 16:9)
